The Overthinking Workshop: why smart women overthink and what you can do about it

14 May, 7pm (BST) | 90 minutes | Live Online

Recording included for everyone who signs up

You know you overthink. You’ve probably Googled how to stop it at some point. Maybe at 2am, lying in the dark, doing a detailed post-mortem of a conversation from three days ago.

The advice is always the same: breathe, journal, think positive. And you’ve tried all of it.

Here’s what that advice misses: overthinking is a brain protection mechanism that’s gone into overdrive. It has a logic. And once you understand the logic, you can actually interrupt it, rather than just willing yourself to stop, which, as you’ve probably noticed, doesn’t work.

That’s what this workshop is about.

What we'll do in 90 min:

ONE

We start with a short written reflection, what’s actually going on in your head right now, and use that as the jumping-off point.

TWO

Then I’ll explain why overthinking is so sticky, and why most popular coping advice makes the thought loop worse rather than interrupting it.

THREE

From there we move into three tools from Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, practised in the session.

FOUR

The last 12 minutes are a guided visualisation, the part people always say they remember most, long after the workshop ends. You’ll finish with something you can use that same evening.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

High-achieving women who look fine but are actually exhausted. Women whose brains replay conversations, catastrophise quietly, and know, intellectually, that they’re spiralling, but can’t stop anyway.

If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking “I know this isn’t rational, but I can’t switch it off”  I created this workshop for you.

About Olya

workshop host

I’m a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist based in London.

I work with women on anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, and burnout in my 1:1 practice.

This workshop brings the same approach into a group setting because I believe the tools that work in therapy shouldn’t only be available to people who can afford weekly sessions.

what people are saying:

Caroline

“Our work together gave me the tools and techniques I needed to feel in control of my life.”

karina

“I feel less anxious, less overthinking and more doing, and have more confidence."

Julia

"Olya equipped me with practical tools to stay grounded in challenging situations.  Not only did we work through existing issues, but she also helped me build resilience for the future."

A few things people ask:

Do I need any therapy experience?

Not at all. The workshop is designed so that you could learn more about the topic, and learn some tools that will help you make changes in your life.

What if I can’t make the live session?

The recording goes to everyone who signs up, so you won’t miss the content.

Is this therapy?

It’s psycho-educational. You’ll learn real tools that come from therapy, in a workshop format. If something more specific is going on for you, I do offer 1:1 sessions and am happy to chat about whether that’s the right fit.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Not at all. But bring your favourite notepad to write down any thoughts that might come up, Also, it's a practical workshop, so we will be working through some exercises together.

Cannot wait to see you in May!
