The Work In Progress · Olya Karpova
Last updated: April 2026
These terms apply to anyone who subscribes to the newsletter published by The Work In Progress, and to anyone who purchases a ticket to any workshop or event hosted by Olya Karpova, trading as The Work In Progress (“I”, “me”, “my”).
By subscribing to the newsletter or completing a ticket purchase, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them before signing up or booking. If you have any questions, get in touch at [email protected] before proceeding.
1. About The Work In Progress
The Work In Progress is run by Olya Karpova, a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist based in London, UK, operating as a sole trader. Contact: [email protected] · the-work-in-progress.com.
Payments for workshop tickets are processed securely via Stripe through Flodesk Checkout. I do not store your card details.
2. The newsletter
By subscribing to the newsletter, you’ll receive bi-weekly emails on topics including mental wellbeing, overthinking, anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, and related subjects. I may also use the newsletter to share updates about upcoming workshops and services.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. Once unsubscribed, you will not receive further newsletter communications. If you have an active workshop booking at the time of unsubscribing, I may still contact you with information essential to that booking until it has taken place.
Newsletter content is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional mental health advice or treatment.
3. Workshops and events
This section applies to all workshop or event ticket purchases made through The Work In Progress. Ticket prices and event details are confirmed at the point of purchase.
Your ticket
Tickets are for your personal use only and are non-transferable. Please do not share your Zoom or event access link with others who have not purchased a ticket.
A recording of the workshop will be sent to all registered attendees within 48 hours of the live session, whether or not you were able to attend live.
Cancellations by you
If you need to cancel your booking, please email [email protected] as soon as possible.
Cancellations or postponements by me
In the unlikely event that I need to cancel or postpone a workshop, I will let all registered attendees know as soon as possible by email.
Refunds will be processed within 10 working days and returned to your original payment method. This is in addition to any rights you have under UK consumer law.
Your statutory rights
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel digital purchases. However, by purchasing a ticket to a live online event scheduled on a specific date, you acknowledge that this right may not apply once the event has taken place. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these terms.
4. Recordings and intellectual property
Workshop recordings are provided for your personal use only. You may not share, distribute, reproduce, resell, or publish any recording or workshop material — in any format — without my prior written permission.
All content produced by The Work In Progress, including newsletter issues, workshop materials, slides, scripts, and recordings, remains my intellectual property. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to access and use the materials you have purchased or opted in to receive, for your own personal development only.
You may not reproduce, copy, or share any part of the content with others who have not purchased or subscribed to it. If you’d like to use any content for any other purpose, please contact me first.
5. Age requirement
All services offered by The Work In Progress — including the newsletter and all workshops — are intended for people aged 18 and over. By subscribing or purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
6. Educational content — not a substitute for therapy
The newsletter and workshops are psycho-educational. They draw on evidence-based approaches to share information and practical tools, but they do not constitute therapy or any other regulated health service. Accessing this content does not create a therapeutic or clinical relationship between us.
The content is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace professional mental health support. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, or feel you need professional support, please speak to your GP, contact NHS 111, or reach out to a mental health service in your area.
Results and outcomes vary between individuals. Nothing in the newsletter or workshops constitutes a guarantee of any specific result.
7. Your data and privacy
When you subscribe to the newsletter or purchase a ticket, I collect your name and email address. This is used to manage your subscription or booking, send you relevant communications, and deliver any content or recordings you are entitled to receive.
Payments are processed by Stripe. I do not have access to your full card details. For events, Google Meet is used to host the live session. Email communications are managed through Flodesk.
Your data is never sold or passed to third parties for marketing purposes. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing [email protected].
Your data is handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Full details of how I collect, store, and use your personal data are set out in my Privacy Policy, available at the-work-in-progress.com.
8. Limitation of liability
I take care in preparing all content and workshop sessions. However, I cannot guarantee that outcomes will be the same for every person. Any tools or techniques shared are intended to support your own reflection and wellbeing — how and whether you apply them is your own choice.
To the extent permitted by UK law, my liability in connection with any newsletter subscription or ticket purchase is limited to the price you paid, if anything. I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the content.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
9. Technology and access
I make reasonable efforts to ensure that online workshops run smoothly and that communications are delivered reliably. However, I cannot be held responsible for disruption caused by factors outside my control, including internet or platform outages. In the event of a significant technical failure during a live session, I will make reasonable efforts to resolve the issue or provide an alternative, such as the recording.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have a suitable internet connection and device to access the event.
10. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in my services or in applicable law. The current version will always be available at the-work-in-progress.com and at the point of purchase or signup. If you continue to use any of my services after an update, that constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If a dispute arises, I’d always prefer to resolve it directly and in good faith before any formal process. Please contact me at [email protected] in the first instance.
12. Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
13. Questions
If you have any questions about these terms, please get in touch at [email protected]. I’m always happy to help.
